Michael Pogwist Obituary
Michael F. Pogwist, 53, of East Broad Street, Tamaqua, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton Campus.
Born Wednesday, March 20, 1968, in Potts-
ville, the son of the late Patricia A. (Heller) Pogwist, Mike was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Cari (Corneliussen) Pogwist.
Surviving are his father, Michael Pogwist of Tamaqua; son, Alex Pogwist of Hazleton; daughter, Ali Rose Pogwist of Hazleton; sister, Lisa A. Filloy, wife of Robert, of Tamaqua, and their sons, Nathan M. and Zachary R. Filloy.
Catholic by faith, Mike was a 1986 graduate of Marian Catholic High School.
Mike worked for Air Products & Chemicals until his disability.
Mike volunteered for the Tamaqua Ambulance Association and Ryan Township Ambulance Association, serving as an E.M.T.
A devoted Flyers hockey, and Phillies baseball fan, Mike enjoyed rock & roll music, and especially the band "Boston".
An adoring, proud father, Mike's witty sense of humor and quick
one-liners will be greatly missed.
Service: A celebration of Michael's life will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 11 a.m. in the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown.
