Trainer
Mrs. Shirley E. Trainer, 94, of Franklin Township, passed into eternal rest on Friday, April 29, 2022, in Maple Shade Meadows, Nesquehoning. She was the widow of Norman A. Trainer Jr.
Prior to retiring, she was a waitress and baker for the former Trainer's Restaurant, Franklin Township.
Born in Temple, Berks County, on Sunday, Oct. 2, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Verna (Stout) Hartman.
She was of the Reformed Lutheran faith.
Shirley enjoyed sewing, making her own clothes, doing crafts and spending time with her loving family.
Surviving are three sons, David C., and his wife, Karen, of Franklin Township, Timothy N., and his wife, Rosalee, of Jupiter, FL, and Michael N., and his wife, Jennifer, of Coopersburg; two brothers, John of Lehighton and Richard "Micky," and his wife, Lorraine, of East Penn Township; five grandchildren, Audrey, Darrin, Jason, Alex and Haley Trainer; four great-grandchildren, Landon, Owen, Noah and Luke Trainer; and nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by three brothers, George, Herman and Robert Hartman.
Service: Private funeral service and interment at convenience of family. Arrangements by Ovsak Funeral Home, Lehighton. Contributions in her name may be made to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford St., Boys Town, NE 68010. Online condolences can
