Allan Brogan Obituary

Allan J. Brogan

Allan J. Brogan, 95, died peacefully on January 10th, 2025. Throughout his eventful lifetime, he actively served others with a positive outlook, endearing him to many. His service began at a young age when he enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War. After the war, he settled in Maumee, OH, and began his law career with over 50 years of practice. His life in Maumee included serving on Maumee City Council, Plan Commission, and Court Mediator, all leading to the honor of Maumee Citizen of the Year in 1997. His community involvement was vast, including serving on several boards: Toledo Country Club, Carranor Hunt and Polo Club, St. Luke's Hospital, University of Toledo Law School Alumni President, Reynolds Road Rotary Club, and Maumee SAIL (Substance Abuse Intervention League).

Other honors include National Senior Paddle Tennis Champion in 1995. His athleticism and long life can partially be attributed to his daily banana. He looked forward to his weekly lunch with fellow DeVilbiss alumni, and breakfast with fellow attorneys.

While his friends, career, and community were fulfilling, his love for his wife and family was most important. Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Eldora; his children, Karen Pok (Jack), Brad Brogan (Kerrie), Todd Brogan (Michele); seven grandchildren; stepdaughters, Anastacia Leach (Terry), Jenifer Osterwalder, Rebecca Livingston (Patrick); and six grandchildren. His great sense of humor made us all smile. When his wife brought home two goldfish in a bowl, he named them "Left and Right," so "they would never be wrong." Services for family.
