Ann Wesenberg Obituary

WESENBERG Ann A. (Kuderemski) Ann A. (Kuderemski) Wesenberg, age 89, of Toledo, Ohio, died on October 21, 2009. Her parents, Peter and Katherine (Nyznyk) Kuderemski, came to the United States from Ukraine, near Poland. Ann was born April 10, 1920, in Hamtramck, Michigan. Ann lived through the Great Depression (when her father worked for the WPA) and World War II. She spoke of rationing food, sugar and stockings, and all the women going to work in the factories to help the war effort. She described the day the war ended, when everyone went downtown to celebrate in the streets. Ann married Durward M. Wesenberg in 1950. He was an electrical engineer for Champion Spark Plug Company, where Ann worked in manufacturing for several years. Durward died in 1984. Ann is also predeceased by her three brothers, John (Anne) and Bob (Edith) Kay of Toledo, Ollie (Pat) Kay of Las Vegas and one sister, Alice Kuderemski of Fort Myers, Florida. She is survived by daughter, Dr. Jane Diehl and husband, Ronald of Brookville, Ohio; son, Thomas Wesenberg and wife, Kathryn of Toledo; grandchildren, Katherine Diehl and Anne and David Wesenberg; five nieces and nephews. Ann and Durward liked to travel, enjoying many vacations with the children around the USA, and in later years taking cruises and often visiting her sister, Alice and brother, Ollie. Ann was an exceptional cook and baker. Her family will always remember the excellent meals she provided and the best pies they ever tasted. After the children were grown, Ann volunteered her time in food service for Rotary Club and delivering Meals on Wheels. She also waitressed at Dolly and Joe's and Ramada Inn. Ann, a happy and loving person, was a wonderful wife and mother, totally devoted to her husband and children. Even in her last difficult months, both at home and after moving to her son's home, she continued to express her tender love and generosity to her family. A memorial service for Ann will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 31 at Providence Reformed Baptist Church, 5926 Meteor Avenue, Toledo 43623. Dinner afterward is at Calvary Bible Chapel, 3740 West Alexis Road, Toledo 43623, where flowers may be sent. Those wishing to honor Ann with a donation may do so to Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, 2500 North Reynolds Road, Toledo 43615.

Jane, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Your mom sounds like a wonderful person who shared so much of herself with everyone. Take comfort in knowing that she will always be present in your heart and that just a thin veil seperates us from those who have gone on. They are there for us if we call on them to be there. Blessed Love to you and your family.

In Ecclesiastes, Chapter 3, it is written: "To everything there is a season, a tme for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die, ...a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance..." Jane may have introduced me to the Wesenberg family all those many years ago, but it has been Ann who allowed me to be present and share in so many of the joy-filled and tear-filled times that have taken place in the Wesenberg and Diehl families....thanking, with love, not only Ann, but Jane and Ron, Tom and Kathi for allowing me to have shared in so many warm and loving memories....may God comfort you at this sad time and may the memories you shared and share provide you with lasting love and joy.

Katy, sending you my love and a tight hug. Anne, sending you my love and a tight hug. David, sending you my love and a tight hug.

Ann, may you have found rest, ease of pain, and God's love you so justly deserve.
Love, Aunt Jean
