Anne Etue Obituary

Anne Marie (Heintschel) Etue

September, 15, 1945 - April 2, 2024

Anne Marie Etue, age 78, passed away on April 2, 2024. She was born on September 15, 1945, to Edward and Anne (Savey) Heintschel. On May 4, 1968, Anne Marie married Tim Etue and together raised their family, Jennifer Menon, Tim, Jeffery and Amy (Mark) Hass, in Toledo and at their beloved Wamplers Lake home (Irish Hills, Michigan).

Anne Marie was a stay-at-home mom for ten years and then over thirty years she worked for the Diocese of Toledo, retiring in 2011. Anne Marie loved her summers at the lake "bobbing" on the pontoon and watching grandchildren learn to swim and "tube", celebrating birthdays and holidays as very special occasions.

The family of Anne Marie deeply cherish the outpouring of love and support during her visitation and memorial. Anne Marie was celebrated and peacefully laid to rest alongside her husband, Timothy, on April 6, 2024. Contributions in her memory are welcomed and can be directed to St. Louis Helping Hands, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

I knew Anne when I was involved at SPX. I truly loved her and Tim, and felt they were two of the kindest people I've ever known -- and let's face it, Anne could be a little salty at times, which was part of her charm! I was privileged to spend a day with Anne and her mom at Wampler's when I included them in a story for The Blade. My deepest condolences to her family.

Anne was one of my first students at NDA who has always been a part of the Notre Dame family. A cheerful, easy-to-smile, generous person, Anne left her mark on many people. May the joy she brought to people here on earth only be multiplied infinitely now that she is with her God Whom she loved and served all her life.

Anne Marie & I became dear childhood friends from our annual summer vacations at Wamplers Lake. My grandma, Susie Frazier, owned the cottage next to Heintschel´s. Our family & relatives became good friends with them for many years. I have wonderful memories of those times & Anne Marie & I continued our close friendship throughout the years. What a blessing you´ve been in my life. Love you.

Anne Marie was my big cousin, and the first girl that I ever accepted as a friend.
