Bernardo C. Bernal Sr.

BERNAL Bernardo C. Sr. Bernardo C. Bernal Sr., 78 years, of Manley Road, Maumee passed away Saturday afternoon, February 16, 2008, at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home where he had lived the past 6 years. Bernardo was born in Mercedes, Texas and moved to the Toledo Area in 1966. He worked a number of years for Springer Farms in Whitehouse and the Bettinger Farms in Swanton and then retired from the maintenance department of Toledo Express Airport in 1977. His hobbies were enjoying Mexican Music, playing card games and bingo. He was an active member of SS Peter & Paul Church. He is the widower of Guadalupe L. R. Bernal who died in 1978. Surviving are his children, Tony (Janie) Bernal, Viola (Pete) Quiroga, Lupita (Nelson) Calixto, Benita (Hector) Rodriguez, Maria (Humberto) Olivas, Alicia (Ramon) Torres, Ricardo (Virginia) Bernal, Pedro Bernal, Aida (Johnny) Rivera, Paul (Irma) Bernal along with 32 grandchildren and many great-grand-children. He is also survived by a brother, Guadalupe Bernal. He was preceded in death by his son, Bernardo Jr. and grandson, Bernardo Bernal III along with a brother and several sisters. Friends may call at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Road Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. where a Scripture Service will be recited at 7 p.m. The funeral will begin in the mortuary Thursday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at SS Peter & Paul Church at 10 a.m. Interment Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Marygrove, Ohio.
