Returning 'home' to Toledo for a visit is always a sacred time for me. It really is my true home and I'm full of memories and expectations, as if some longing can be satisfied there. Well, last August when I was there I visited Aunt Kack and played the cello for her and the residents of the facility. Out of all the wonderful experiences of that trip, seeing her somehow made me feel complete. In a lifetime of change, SHE had not...the same perennial smile and genuine interest in something about me. (And white hair! Gosh, I hope I got those genes because if I have to get old, I want that same gorgeous color!) I know she is remembered with fondness by many--and I'm grateful to be one of them.

Shelly O'Neill
September 7, 2008
This is Shelly O'Neill here, Margaret's daughter. I live in Vermont with my husband Jay. Our two children, Jacob and Margaret are living here and in Tahoe, CA, and Tucson, AZ. I would love to reconnect with all of you at the funeral but unfortunately I am unable to do so. I loved Aunt Kack's youthful exuberance and energy. And after my mom's death, up until just a few years ago I enjoyed conversations with her every year around Christmas. It was always a great comfort to me to connect with her. You are all in my thoughts. Love, Shelly

Tim O'Neill and wife Carol. Tim is son of Margaret O'Neill, Kack's youngest sister. We live in Wisconsin now and regret not being able to attend. Carol met Kack once, when Leo was still alive. She remembered Kack's energy. I recall playing rummy with Marebell, Mom, Kack and Annabob in the Feak house at Point Place. I was just a little kid then, and those girls were truly a family that loved each other. Kack lived a long life, most of it with her loving husband. God willing, they are all together yacking up a storm about old times.
