David Cisowski Obituary

David Paul Cisowski

David Paul Cisowski, 61, of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 17, 2024, at his home. He was born September 2, 1962, in Toledo to Louis F. and Marlene H. (Szymanski) Cisowski.

He attended St. Adalbert Grade School, graduated from Central Catholic High School, and attended the University of Toledo. David lived in Barboursville, West Virginia, where he met his wife, Lisa Chapman. He worked as a lineman for CSX Railroad for many years. David became ill last June and as a result had to endure many hip replacement surgeries and therapies at Cleveland Clinic and in Toledo until his death. Through all his pain and suffering David stayed positive and looked fore to the future.

David loved attending his stepson's little league games and high school baseball games, snowmobiling, water skiing and camping in Michigan with friends, boating, fishing, riding bicycles and dirt bikes. David had many lifelong friends who have shared memories of him fishing, water skiing, snowmobiling and camping under the stars. David brought his adventurous spirit, generosity, and warm camaraderie into everyone's lives. His laughter, joking around, and storytelling were often heard around campfires and family gatherings.

David had the ability to turn every moment into a joyful memory and every challenge into an adventure. His friend of 40 years Scott Grzymkowski states, "David has left an indelible mark on all of us, teaching us the value of friendship, the joy of life's simple monuments, and the courage to face the unknown with a smile. "

David is survived by his sister, Margaret (Andrew) Miller; stepsons, Mason Chapman; and daughter, Piper Chapman, and Michael (Cindy) Chapman, and daughter, Harper Chapman; nieces and nephew, Sheridan (Tyler) Cassady, Alexandra (Jacob) Newlon and Ryan Miller; as well as great-niece, Anna.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lisa; and siblings, Fred, Tim and Carolyn Cisowski.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Calvary Cemetery, Fr. James Morman, officiating.

David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, Toledo, has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be considered to the Cisowski family.

RIP Pickle, you were something else, always a character, and a heck of a railroad griller

Margaret I am so sorry for your loss. I think of you often and of course Carolyn and your family as well. May you find peace in happy memories. You remain in my prayers.

What a kind hearted human being we lost. Along with our High School grind we had many days fishing on Erie together with our trusted lure, the Erie Deerie. RIP Redman!
