David Guhl Obituary
David Guhl, 69, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on July 20, 2017 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 4, 1948. David was the son of the late Donald and Irene Guhl.
He worked for 36 years as a sheet metal worker for the Local 33. David loved working in the trade, it took him to numerous job sites where he made many friends. There was never a dull moment when Dave was around.
On September 21, 1968, he married Joyce, the love of his life. Together they embarked on the many adventures of life such as bowling, boating, dancing, camping, etc. Their biggest adventure was raising their three sons, Donny, David, and Chris.
Dave truly loved his family and friends. He was the "go to guy" in the family. If you needed anything, he was ready and willing to be supportive. Dave's father passed away when he was 19 years old. From that point forward, he took on the role of father and big brother to his two younger sisters, Barb and Diane, and his brother, Mike. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joyce; sons, Donny, David (Meliza), and Chris. Also surviving, are his siblings, Diane Garcia, Barb (Rick) Lederman, and Mike (Cheryl) Guhl; grandchildren, Donny (Kelli), Haley, Sierra,
Natalia, Nathaniel, Nyxie; great-grandson, Brayden, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly.
The family will receive friends at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43614, Front Chapel, on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 25th, at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio. Those wishing to make a memorial tribute may do so at the charity of their choice. The family would like to take the time to thank his favorite nurse, Kylee and all the staff in the ICU at UTMC for their care and support.

I played the sax in the Macomber h.s. marching band alongside with David, just before we took the field at half time. we always looked at each other and laughed as we started marching. I never saw David without a smile on his face.
i wish i would have stayed in touch...
i'll see you again David Guhl, and we can look at each other and laugh together again. that's what life is all about, laughter and love for one another.

I worked many years with Dave. He was good at his craft and new how to enjoy work. He was good at making people life and his stories I still carry with me to this day. It was a blessing to have known him. I am sorry to hear of his passing and have your family in my prayers.

Dave a great guy he was witty and funny if he was on the job site we all new it was going to be some comical drama.Dave had a different way of looking at life he listen with silent compassion and make the most out of a tough situation with a smile and a good joke. Dave taught us all not to take ourselves so serious it was a pleasure to know him and work with him.I lost touch with Dave after he retired but just the mention of his name brings a smile to my face and I will miss him.
