Dennis R. Elwing

Dennis R. Elwing, 80, of Oak Harbor, OH, died Monday, October 10, 2022, at his home under Hospice Care. He was born January 27, 1942, in Port Clinton, OH, to the late Daniel H. and Norma G. (Nickel) Elwing. He was a 1960 graduate of Oak Harbor High School and received his Associated Degree in Drafting from Stautzenberger College. On August 4, 1963, he married the former Narda Rahm and she survives. Dennis was a Mold Designer for Owens Illinois in Toledo, OH, of which he retired. In his younger years, he worked for the former Hemminger Marine in Oak Harbor. Following his retirement, he worked part-time at Nelson Manufacturing in Oak Harbor. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor and enjoyed woodworking, and remodeled his home. Dennis also loved cats. He loved his two "westies" and many other cats that the family had.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Narda of Oak Harbor; children, Trent Elwing of Port Orchard, WA and Britt (Mark) Knouse of Holly Springs, NC; grandchildren, Seth, Lance, and Reese Knouse; sister, Carol (Dale) Freimark of Oak Harbor; and nephews, Chad, Craig, and Aaron Freimark.

Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. The family will receive friends beginning at Noon on Tuesday. Burial will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
