Gary Mossing Obituary

Gary Mossing

Gary Mossing (October 2 1958 - April 21 2024) passed away unexpectedly, but doing what he loved, traveling and exploring with friends and family. Gary was preceded in heaven by his parents, Kenny and Marilyn; siblings, John, Lisa, Kathy; and his children, Eric and Kaite. Gary is survived by his wife, Jana; children, Tony (Ashely), Michelle, Brad (Marissa), Alex (Beth); grandchildren, Kenny, Issy, Amelia, Sammy and Andrew; siblings, Ann (Tom) Borgia, Jeff (Lynda), Joe (Sherri), Alan, Amy (Brad), Jenny (Pradeep) Tekkey; and many nieces and nephews.

Gary is remembered for loving his family, hard work, and enthusiasm for travel. Gary and Jana shared 40 years of marriage, love, and adventure. He was most proud of the family they raised and the values they instilled. This is evident through the joy of his 5 grandchildren that brings out that famous Gary smile we all know and love. Gary enjoyed spending his free time at the lake surrounded by his mother, siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He could be found grilling out for the masses, playing 2-letter words in scrabble, sunbathing on the pontoon or imparting his wisdom on how to complete projects if you wanted it or not. As a talented carpenter, Gary built many custom homes which allowed families the space to grow and raise their families. His dedication to work was showcased by becoming president of the Northwest Ohio Home Builders Association in 1996. He used his experience to improve the community by spending his extra time coaching and mentoring youth sports as well as building houses for the less fortunate.

Gary brought joy into every situation with his charisma, goofiness, and willingness to try new things. In his last great adventure Gary was vacationing in the Las Vegas area. He was taking in the beauty of the Strip, Hoover Dam, and the Grand Canyon telling stories, making everyone laugh and smile. His last great adventure took him through the Grand Canyon where he passed with the setting sun. A beautiful finish to a beautiful life.

Gary, president of HBA when I joined to participate in a Parade of Homes in 67. Renewed our friendship while his male children were wrestling @ CCHS and I was involved with managing and scoring of tournaments. He was a great builder and special wrestling fan.
