George Dedes Obituary
George Alex Dedes, age 97, of Toledo, passed away August 27, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo. He was born January 2, 1924 in Chicago, IL to Alex and Christina (Katsakos) Dedes. As a member of The Greatest Generation, George served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He owned and operated George Dedes Associates for more than 50 years. George was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Toledo.
In addition to his parents, George was also preceded in death by his siblings, James, Sam, Flossie, Pauline and Sammy Dedes. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary K. Dedes; children, Christina (Rev. Douglas) Papulis, Fr. Seraphim (Alex) Dedes, Peter (Artemis) Dedes; grandchildren, Alex Papulis, Peter (Mary) Papulis, George Papulis, George P. Dedes, Grace Vallante; great-grandsons, Douglas, Leo and George Papulis.
The family will receive guests, Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 740 North Superior Street Toledo, Ohio, and the funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. Private interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in George's memory.

Our church family has lost a wonderful person. He always welcomed me at church and made me feel comfortable and not an outsider. What a great family man, too. George and I will miss him!
