James CLEGHORN Obituary

CLEGHORN James William James William Cleghorn, age 69, of Sun City, Arizona, formerly of Toledo, Ohio tragically died suddenly in an accident near his home on June 27, 2012. He was born April 21, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio to Harold (Jack) and Mary Cleghorn. Jim was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School and the University of Toledo. He married Judith (Judy) Plageman in 1965. He worked for the home office of Hickory Farms, purchasing a franchise and moving the family to Arizona in 1976. Most recently he was employed at Safeway Supermarket, retiring one year ago. Jim was known as an honest, honorable, decent man who was well known for his "corny" jokes. Most recently, he took great pride in his renovation of his 1955 Schwinn Black Phantom bicycle, which he could be seen riding through his neighborhood. He was also an altar server and monitor of the Perpetual Adoration Chapel at St Clement of Rome parish. He was president of his HOA. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Catherine Cleghorn Menden. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 47 years, Judith (Judy) Cleghorn; children, Gayle Cleghorn Strother, Timothy Cleghorn, and Gregory Cleghorn; brother, Edwin (Sharon) Cleghorn; brother-in-law, John Menden; sister-in-law, Linda Plageman (Mike) Meier; 5 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial was held July 2, 2012, at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 15800 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, Arizona. Memorial contributions can be made to the church.
