James Garbe Obituary
James Aubry Garbe, 77, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Heritage of Bowling Green. He was born on January 19, 1941 in Toledo, OH to Robert Richard Garbe Sr. and Evelyn Aubry Garbe.
James was a graduate of the Ohio State University School of Pharmacology and was employed as pharmacist for 35 years. He was a member of Rotary and Toastmasters. He enjoyed raising Monarch butterflies, golfing, and spending time with his beloved German Shepard Zachary. Jim was best known for his generosity, kindness, and his ability to live life to the fullest. He always enjoyed the adventure of meeting new people and was a stranger to no one and a friend to everyone.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Christine (Andrew) Meyer; granddaughter Harper Alexandria as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his wife Barbara, and several siblings.
Friends are invited to visit today, Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 W. Sylvania Ave. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery in Sylvania. Rev. Tyler Dunlap Officiant. I graduated pharmacy at OSU in Jim's class, 1966. We lived 2 blocks away in Columbus and often studied together, golfed, and played badminton in the back yard of the apartment he and wife, Joanne, lived in. Somehow lost touch after 1966 graduation. Remember watching The Beatles on their B&W TV, Ed Sullivan Show since I did not have a TV until after graduation. Very nice people and just discovered the obit for Jim when he popped into my head as I was looking at pictures of our class. RIP, Jim. Glad I found you, so sorry you have passed.

Hi Christine I'm so sorry to hear about your father. I've been hoping to see him again. Your dad was the first pharmacist I ever worked with. I've heard so many stories about you over the years. I was hoping to meet you, but I'm just hearing about his passing today. Your dad was an amazing man, as you know. My sincere condolences
