Kenneth Guess Obituary
Kenneth (Ken) W. Guess, 73, of Temperance, Michigan died unexpectedly on Tuesday July 20, 2021 at Toledo Hospital. Born January 12, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of Eli "Sam" and Mary (Modrell) Guess. Ken was a 1966 graduate of Scott High School. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He continued his service in the Air National Guard for over 20 years.
Ken enjoyed his motor cycles especially the Harley Davidsons and was a car enthusiast, particularly hot rods. He was a member of the Oak Park Gang Car Club. He spent his years after retirement as a vendor at local swap meets where he enjoyed selling almost as much as he enjoyed talking to the people. "Papa Ken" took immense pride in his children and grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as "The Man. The Myth. The Legend. His greatest joy was spending time with his family telling stories, showing pictures and entertaining everyone.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of nearly 51 years, Sheryl; children, Ken (Christine) Guess, Jason Guess, Jennifer (Will) Thompson and Ryan (Tracy) Guess; grandchildren, Cameron, Nathan, Aden, Ian, Nick and Lauren; brothers, Bob (Geri Stanford) Guess, Russ (Barb) Guess, Jerry (Katie) Guess; sisters, Annette (John) Machcinski and Barb (Jim) Nowakowski and sister-in-law, Lois Guess. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Guess.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice
