Larry Moritz Obituary
Larry August Moritz, age 81, of Millbury, OH, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at home suddenly and unexpectedly following a cardiac arrest. He was born December 15, 1941, in his grandparent's home in Martin, OH. His parents were Alton Christ Moritz and Faye Gertrude Kruse Moritz. Larry's dad was in the Army at the time and later his mom and he were able to go to different Army bases where his dad was stationed. Starting in junior high school, Larry started competitive high power rifle shooting. Lots of trophies were won. Larry graduated from Genoa High School in 1959. He started working at General Motors in 1962. He entered the apprentice program to become a tool maker. Larry loved his job and retired in 2007 after almost 45 years working at Hydromatic. On August 3, 1963, Larry married the love of his life, Carol Brillhart, having over 60 very happy years together. Golfing was one of Larry's favorite things to do. Watching a Cleveland Brown's game, reading, playing a good game of euchre, learning new things on YouTube, and spending time with his family and friends brought him enjoyment. He loved to kid and joke, but what brought Larry the most joy was time with his children and grandchildren.
Larry leaves behind, his wife, Carol; his children, Gary, Bradley (Esther), Wendy (Mark), Matthew, and Jason; his grandchildren, Adam, Morgan, Riley, Jacob, Emma, and Christian; and his brother, Dennis (Katie). He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry; and his parents.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Road in Oregon on Sunday, October 22, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Larry will be laid to rest at Clay Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Caleb International Ministries, PO Box 5311, New Castle, PA 16105 or to Hope Community Church of the Nazarene, 5650 Starr Ext., Oregon, OH 43616.
