Michael Ashby Obituary
Michael B. L.
Age 66, of Lanyard Lane, Wilmington, passed away of natural causes Sunday afternoon, March 30, 2014, at
Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, OH. He was born August 6, 1947, in Parkersburg, WV, to Wilbur and Margaret (Marstellar) Ashby.
Surviving are two children, Christopher and Melissa Ashby of Sidney and Molly Ashby of Columbus; as well as two grandsons, Everett Ashby and Cameron Hanrahan. He was preceded in death by both parents. Mr. Ashby was a 1965 graduate of Parkersburg High School. He then served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. After returning home, Michael studied to obtain a BA of Science degree in the field of Allied Health from the University of Kentucky in 1972. Mr. Ashby has since been Director of Laboratory Services for many years at various hospitals. He was a member of the Wilmington American Legion Post #49. Mike was an avid fan of KY basketball and WV football. He also enjoyed motorcycle rides.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014, at Gehret
Funeral Home in Fort Loramie, with Pastor John Leighty presiding. Friends may call Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Condolences may be expressed at
