Patricia Ann



Patricia Ann Slupecki Achinger, age 72, of Lambertville, MI passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Aspen Grove. She was born January 16, 1941, in Louisville, KY to Richard and Mary (Van Vactor) O'Bryan. A graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Patricia was a Licensed RN in Ohio and Michigan. She began her career as a nurse at Mercy Hospital and went on to work for Dr. Jack Newton's office in Sylvania. Patricia became the Clinical Director for the Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Unit at The Toledo Hospital which she considered to be the highlight of her career. After leaving that position she worked in the Neonatal Care Unit at Parkview Hospital where she was a member of the "BOHICA" Club. Patricia concluded her nursing career in 1997 having spent the last 5 years as a Home Health Care Nurse for VNS Nursing, specializing in pediatric care. Her favorite past time activities were playing bridge, dominoes, and golf. Patricia loved to play games with her grandchildren, especially Wii bowling. She was a longtime parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church.

Patricia is survived by her husband of 16 years, Thomas; sons, Andrew (Margaret) Slupecki, Michael (Sharie) Slupecki, Tom (Vickie) Achinger, Mike (Sara) Achinger, and Steve (Tracey) Achinger; daughter, Kathy (Steve) Miller; daughter-in-law, Patty Slupecki; grandchildren, Ellie, Jake, Ben, Craig, Brian, Abbie, Nick, Allie, Rebekah, Veronica, Tabitha, Felicia, Alex, Cole, Matt, A.J., Timmy, Sydney, Katie and Nate; brothers, Richard "Eddie" O'Bryan and John (Shirley) O'Bryan, and sisters-in-law, Grace O'Bryan and Janet Slupecki. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Mark Slupecki.

Family and friends may visit Friday, January 24, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. where a scripture service will be held at 7:00 p.m.. The Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 25, at 11:00 a.m. in Regina Coeli Church preceded by visitation in the church from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat's name may be given to the Aspen Grove Memorial Fund, or the American Lung Association. Please share condolences at

Dear Tom, Mike, Andy and Family,

We are sorry to hear about Aunt Pat's passing. She was an amazing person and loved by many. I have many fond memories of our childhood visits. We are praying for you and your families.
