Pete Karavas, 71, formerly of Toledo, passed on March 3, 2015, in Paulson, WA. This is what he wanted. He served his country in the Navy as a signal man from 1962-1965 on the USS Dale, USS Boyd, USS Galveston. He was a proud member of the OCAW union for over 37 years. Retiring from Sun Oil in 2005. Engaging in a battle with cancer from 2006 until his passing. He was the type of person who could light up any room with his jokes and laughter. He used terms like "bro" and "my man". He was the person who liked to shoot just about anything. He was a Vikings fan. A car junky enthusiast whose pride was a '68 Chevelle. He was a fun husband, a wise father, a great granddad, a loyal brother, and a trusting friend.

Surviving is his sister, Irene Jernigan, and family; brother, Mike Gorshoff and family; sons, Chris and Pete Karavas; daughter, Wendy Humphrey; grandkids, Cameron, Camille, Caede, and Andrea Karavas, Brittany Chouinard, Staerker family plus immediate family, Lee, Sherry, Cindy, and family; ex wives, Lauranna Karavas, and Michelle Karavas and bro, Harold Bigelow.

Services will be held at Main Street Church, 705 Main St., Walbridge, OH at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 14.

I worked with Pete for many years at Sun Oil Co. He was a fun guy to be around and will be missed by us all, Sorry for the loss of a nice guy.
