Richard Lee Bertram, 97, passed away Friday, October 4, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 25, 1916 in Memphis, MO, to Elmer Otto Bertram and Bess (Gillespie) Bertram. Lovingly know as Pop to his family, he was a devoted husband, father, and proud grandfather of Jimmy and Joey Momenee. Richard honorably served his country from 1942-1945 in the Pacific Theatre in the 5th US Army Airforce during WWII. Upon returning home, he settled in Cleveland, OH where Richard met and married Mary Dudyk on October 15, 1947. In 1950 he began a 27 year employment with International Harvester Co during which time he transferred to Toledo, OH in 1975. Richard enjoyed sports was an especially loyal fan to the Cleveland Indians and Browns. He was an active member of Hope United Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteer service to the church. However, his greatest love was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary; daughter, Sara Lee Momenee (James); son, Robert Bertram (Vivian) of Streetsboro, OH; grandchildren, James Richard Momenee and Joseph Thomas Momenee. He was preceded in death by his parents, and older brothers, Frederick, John, George, and Joseph.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 7, 2013, from 2 until 8 p.m. in the Thomas I. Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 North Reynolds Rd. (419-531-4424). Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Hope United Methodist Church, 4069 W. Sylvania Ave. Toledo, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Pastor John Richards will officiate.
