Richard E. "Rick" Minkowski, age 71, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 25, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio, to Richard and Gloria Minkowski.

Rick graduated from Macomber H.S. in 1972 and retired from the City of Toledo Water Department in 2014. Rick was an avid sports fan, always rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes, the 49ers, and all Detroit teams. He was devoted to his children and grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to support them. He loved staying busy and was always on the go.

Rick's favorite hobbies included sharing his love and knowledge of sports with his grandson, Cameron, and sitting on the sidelines at his grandson, Peyton's, baseball games. He also enjoyed crosswords, word searches, and animals of all kinds-never turning away a stray. Rick loved driving around and visiting everyone.

Rick was a kind-hearted man who made friends with everyone. He will be missed endlessly by all. Richard is survived by his daughters, Jessika and Lyndy (his favorite son-in-law, Mark); his grandsons, Cameron and Peyton; his siblings, Andra (Chet) Greene, Shawna (Dave) Mitchell, Marla, and Neil; and special friends, Pam and Erin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Gloria Minkowski; and two sons, Milo and Jason.

Per Rick's wishes, there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
