Robert Bilius Obituary

Robert John "Bob" Bilius

Robert John "Bob" Bilius passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, surrounded by family. Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend, Mentor, Peer, and Role Model only broach the surface of the man who led a family, company, and community by showing those around him true compassion and comradery. Having traveled to almost every country he desired with his loving wife, 30 years of marriage allowed Bob to love and be loved by an amazing partner. Known for his fierce dedication and loyalty, Bob took each of his roles very seriously and spent his life embodying the very meaning of family. Throughout his 64 years, Bob was able to connect with anyone he met. He was quietly in charge as the gentle, silent leader of the family who could bring diverse groups together without anyone realizing they were suddenly collaborating. Bob was the first to introduce hockey to the Bilius family, a sport that he would later enjoy by attending family member's hockey games throughout the country. His sense of humor and superior golf skills made him the first person picked for any golf event, even though his family and friends rarely beat his score. Being the handyman of the family, he will be remembered as the first person who was called when anything around the house needed to be repaired, especially because the repair would be entertaining. Wholehearted smiles, laughs, and hugs were Bob's way of entering family gatherings, during which he could usually be found with one or all of his grandchildren on his lap. Bob spent 34 years working in various roles for Heidelberg Distributing, ultimately retiring as the Vice President of Sales in 2023. Rarely rattled by intense situations, his peers touted Bob as the calm, kind, and inspirational leader who was able to accomplish revolutionary changes throughout the company. Bob will be desperately missed by everyone who called him by any number of titles throughout his life.

Bob is survived by his mother, Margaret Bilius; loving wife of 30 years, Colette (Kusz) Bilius; children, Robert (Jessica), Nicholas (Victoria Riggs), and Zach (Payton Fox) Bilius; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Wyatt, Landon, Greyson, Stella, and Scout; brother, Dave (Linda) Bilius; and sisters, Sharon (Patrick) McGaharan and Linda (Jim) Bigelow. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Arlene Sutton; sister-in-law, Renae (Richard) Vessov; 11 nieces and nephews; 2 great-nephews; uncles, Andrew Owczarzak Jr. and Tom (Connie) Owczarzak; and aunt, Patricia Kina. He was preceded in death by his father, John Bilius Jr.

Visitation will be Monday, November 6, from 2-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., with sharing of memories at 6 p.m.
