Ronald Pfouts

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Ronald Eugene Pfouts, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather. Ron, as he was affectionately known, was born on November 18, 1939, in Byhalia, OH, and peacefully left this world on January 6, 2024. He was 84 years old.

Ron lived a fulfilling life that touched the hearts of many. After earning his high school diploma from BGHS in 1957, he worked as a supervisor, constructing major infrastructure in Ohio and neighboring states. He worked for Peirce Construction in Holland from 1957 - 1983 and E.S. Wagner Co, in Oregon, from 1983 - until retiring in 2000.

He was a member of Sugar Ridge Community Church, where he served as superintendent for ten years. He was also a member of the Historical Construction Equipment Association. He enjoyed building model airplanes, collecting eagle figurines and Star Wars memorabilia. When Ron was younger, he enjoyed playing basketball in area barns and baseball for Bowling Green city leagues. One of his highlights was winning a contest where he was able to fly in a Russian fighter jet.

Ron will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Nancy (Bowen) Pfouts; his devoted children, David (Saundra) Pfouts and Sandra (Ken) Haab; his cherished grandchildren, Michael (April) Pfouts, Jessica Subic, Christopher Pfouts, Jennifer (Dalton) Hines, Tina (Gene) Toney, Nicholas Cutchall, Nicole (Rodrigo) DeLaRoca, Kaitlynn (Ben) Loy; as well as his dear brother, Gregory (Dianne) Pfouts, and sister, Ruth Dierker. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pearl Albert and Mary (Ramsey) Pfouts; son, Thomas Eugene Pfouts; and siblings, John Richard Pfouts, Pearl Leon Pfouts, Robert Lowell Pfouts, and Michael David Pfouts.

A visitation for Ron will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, 1460 W. Wooster Street, Bowling Green. His funeral will be held on Thursday January 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. A burial service will immediately follow at Union Hill Cemetery. Friends and family are invited back to a catered luncheon at the funeral home after the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Ron's memory to the Historical Construction Equipment Association or Bridge Hospice, Bowling Green.
