Ruth was one of the friendliest people when I transferred to DHS my senior year. I'm sure she'll be missed by her family and friends. My condolences to her family.

I went through grade school and high school with Ruth. You couldn't find a nicer person anywhere. She was friendly to and friends with everybody. I haven't seen her since we graduated from high school, but was looking forward to seeing her at recent reunions especially our 50th in 2014. No doubt, she will be sorely missed by her family, friends and colleagues.

It was a pleasure teaching with Ruth in South Bend at Jackson school. We also lived near each other. I have fond memories of her sense of humor and our numerous conversations regarding the education system. She was a realistic educator who clearly enjoyed her students. I use a technique with my students that I learned from Ruth; when students give presentations in class the audience of other students click their fingers instead of clapping. She said it is a coffee house tradition. God bless your family.
