Stephen Kinsey Obituary

KINSEY

Stephen M.

Stephen M. Kinsey, age 43, of Toledo, Ohio took his final and most incredible journey to the arms of his Savior on October 5, 2012, led by Donna Kinsey his beloved sister-in-law who preceded him in death. Until the end, he believed he would be healed from liver cancer and go on to help and heal others. He accomplished the ultimate healing and his legacy of love lives on in his son Brandon. He is survived by his father, David Kinsey; mother, Carol and stepfather, Stephen Rutz; brother, Brett (Dotty)Kinsey; sister, Heather (Bill) Doom; beloved nieces, Taylor and Lexi, and stepbrother, Stephen (Aimee) Rutz. His enduring love for the mother of his child, Julie Kinsey and friend Tom Stamos was an inspiration to us all.

Steve attended Whitmer and Bedford High Schools and became a registered polysomnagraph technician. His passion for film making and acting broadened his circle of friends and brought him endless hours of joy.

His loved ones will miss his irresistible smile and his way of telling them something he new would upset them and then say, "Aw, I'm just pullin your lariat." Steve marched to the beat of his own drummer. He didn't care what other people said. He had integrity. Death cannot destroy his sweet, shining soul.

Donations in his name may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon-2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where a tribute to his life will follow at 2:00 p.m. His final gift and wish was to donate his body to the University of Michigan so the study of his rare diseases might bring knowledge, healing and life to others.

You always called me your brother from another mother, I always felt the same. I didn't lose a friend, I lost a family member. You were a thinker, a philosopher and a dreamer. You saw the world through the eyes of a child with a wisdom far beyond your years. Your inspiration and hope will always be with me. Thank you for the love and the laughs. It was a genuine privilege.

Steve was the kindest most thoughtful man I ever worked with. I am happy to have known him. I worked with him at Concept Rehab. He always had me laughing.

Well stoof, I wish you were pulling my lariat and you would magically reappear...but I know you are healthy, happy, and scowling down at me from heaven every time I drink something with artificial sweetener. I love you bro and you will always and forever live on in my heart.

Somewhere, we're still riding around in that beaten old Monte Carlo, laughing at ourselves, with no idea at all how short this all is.

What a painful time you must be going through. I'm sure that you will find solace knowing that he is no longer in pain. My prayers are with you.
