Thomas Prond Obituary
Thomas D. Prond, age 72, of Toledo, died September 5, 2022, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Thomas was born May 6, 1950 in Toledo to Donald and Alice (Kersey) Prond.
In addition to his parents, Tom was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Prond; and his sister, Donna Prond. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Prond; son, Sam (Katie) Prond; grandson, Miles Prond; sister, Mary (Terry) Szych; nieces, Sarah and Heather; and nephew, Matthew.
Tom was born, was raised, and lived his life in Toledo and the Perrysburg area; graduating from Central Catholic in 1968. He worked most of his life in Transportation while leading a quiet and fulfilling life as a family man. Tom enjoyed watching every sport and was an enthusiastic fan of the Toledo Mud Hens and Chicago Cubs. He took pride in imparting his knowledge of not only sports, but how to live life to his son, but greatest achievement was becoming a grandfather. His grandson was his greatest joy.
The family will receive guests, Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900).
Tom was a dog lover. In leu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to in Tom's memory to Lucas County Canine Care and Control to help sponsor a dog waiting for adoption. https://lucascountydogs.com/donate/
