Edgar H.
Edgar H. Prond, age 89, of Toledo, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 6, 2015, at the Franciscan Care Center. He was born in 1926 in Toledo to Ernest and Mary Prond. During World War II Ed proudly served in the U.S. Navy.
Edgar was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Prond; daughter, Tina (Mike) Bennett; son, Eric (Janet) Prond; grandchildren, Andrew (Jacki) Prond, Jennifer Prond, Spencer Prond-Ruppert; step-grandchildren, Peter Ruppert Jr., Jennifer Wilson and Abigail Bennett; along with two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive guests Thursday, July 9, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - NW Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by burial in Toledo Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 East River Rd., Perrysburg, OH, 43551 or Zion Lutheran Church, 8307 Memorial Hwy., Ottawa Lake, MI 49267 in Edgar's memory.
