Velma FAYKOSH Obituary

FAYKOSH Velma M. Velma M. Faykosh, age 96, of Risingsun, OH passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, July 6, 2012, at her residence. She was born on March 20, 1916, in Liberty, FL to Columbus and Clara (Thompson) Hamilton. Velma married Peter I. Faykosh on June 2, 1934, in Piney Grove, FL and he preceded her in death on October 13, 1997. In her younger years she had worked at Plexa Glass in Rossford, OH and J.C. Penny in Northwood, OH. She was a wonderful homemaker, cook, and in her spare time enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family and friends. Velma is survived by her son, Paul (E. (Pat) Faykosh of Pemberville, OH; daughters, Geraldine "Gerry" (Steve) Levorchick of Stony Ridge, OH, Nell Long of Risingsun, OH, and Rose (Don) King of Risingsun, OH; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Albert Hamilton of Pensacola, FL and Edward Hamilton of Chattanooga, TN; sister, Vara McGarrity of N. Augusta, SC, and lots of loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; twin grandsons, Mark and David; brother, Fred, and sisters, Docia, Annie, and Louise. Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 9, 2012, from 4-7 p.m. the Marsh Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, OH, where funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Velma's brother's (Edward) son-in-law, Pastor Don Eade of Meridianville, AL. Burial will be in Graham Cemetery, Wayne, OH. There will be a bereavement luncheon served at Bradner American Legion immediately following the cemetery committal services. Those giving a memorial contribution may wish to consider: Wood County Baptist Church, Bowing Green, OH, American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
