William Bourdeau Obituary

William "Bill" Bourdeau

March 3, 1947 - December 17, 2025

William Joseph Bourdeau, affectionately known as Bill, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, in Sylvania, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 3, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio, Bill was a proud Army veteran who dedicated himself to his country and community.

For 31 years, Bill showcased his exceptional skills as a carpenter at Arco Inc., leaving a mark in the trades with his dedication and craftsmanship. Bill graduated from Sylvania Burnham High School in 1965.

Bill's heart belonged to his beloved wife, Linda Bourdeau, whom he married on January 29, 1971, at St. Joseph Church in Sylvania, Ohio. Their bond was a testament to enduring love, filled with treasured moments and memories that will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew them.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Bill was an active member of various organizations that reflected his spirit of service. He was a Life Member of VFW Post 2898, where he also served as commander for two years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 468. He proudly held his membership with Local 1138 Union. His dedication to these communities exemplified his generosity, respect, and love for others.

An enthusiastic sports fan, Bill devoted much of his leisure time to golfing, playing in numerous leagues, particularly at Spuyten Duyval. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and his passion for sports was matched only by the joy he found in spending quality time with his family and friends. Whether they were enjoying a night out at the casino or traveling to Las Vegas or Firekeepers, those moments brought him immense happiness.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Linda Bourdeau; his cherished daughter, Jodi; and his beloved sisters, Sandy Giebel, Bonnie Morin, and Robin Dezanett. He is also survived by his beloved 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons. Bill is remembered with love by his family and friends, who are grateful for the beautiful memories they shared with him.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brian; his parents, Albert C. Bourdeau and Mary M. Bourdeau; and his stepfather, Roy C. Higginbotham. Bill's spirit lives on, cherished and missed deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A service to honor Bill's life will be held on December 27, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at VFW Post 2898, located at 3925 W. Alexis Rd, Toledo, Ohio, 43623. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate the remarkable life he led.

A special thanks from the family to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the loving care provided to Bill and the family. In Bills memory, please consider making donations to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
