William VENN Obituary

VENN William William Venn, 61, of Hilliard, OH, passed away December 25, 2011. Born August 31,1950 in Peoria, Illinois; US ARMY Veteran -served in the Vietnam War Following Vietnam, majored in woodworking at Eastern KY University, Richmond, KY; Founded and operated Venn Erecting Company (VEC), Frankfort, KY until 1985. In June 1982, VEC was acknowledged nationally in Metal Building News for its innovative installation of a Butler MR-24 standing seam roof on a 381,000 sq. ft building in Elizabethtown, KY. resident of Service Products Building Systems, Maumee, OH (division of Lathrop Construction and Turner Construction Company) 1985-2004. Acknowledged several years for exceptional sales and erection of pre-engineered metal buildings by Butler Steel and later USA Steel. Loved woodworking and any project that required building skills. He was most proud of his ability to assist in the construction of Calvary Bible Chapel's Family Life Center in Toledo, Ohio where he was a member until moving to Hilliard in 2004. Adored his 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren, and beloved dog, Shadow. Will be remembered for his quick wit, joke telling, and the tons of humorous e-mails he sent to his family and friends. But mostly he will be remembered for his generous spirit and willingness to help anyone in need. Preceded in death by his father, Henry Venn; mother, Jacqueline Moutier Venn and sister, Mary Venn Major. Survived by his loving wife, Jean Laymance Venn of Hilliard; daughters, Audrey Venn of Hilliard, OH, Nicole Venn (Brian) Kusek of Hilliard, OH, and Lauren Venn (Jason) Kelly of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Madison, Ryan, and Tyler Polley, Carter, Jacob, and Noah Kusek and Preston Kelly; brothers, Robert (Kim) Venn of Winchester, KY, Michael (Lisa) Venn of Versailles, KY; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunt, Myra.
