Debra Ragsdell Venn, 73, of Gilmer, Texas passed from this life on Nov. 10, 2025 in Dallas, TX. Debra was born Oct. 2, 1952 in Atlanta, TX to William (Red) Franklin Ragsdell and Opal Paul Ragsdell.

Debra graduated from Atlanta High School, and then continued her education receiving her Bachelors degree from East Texas State University in Commerce, TX. She later received her Masters from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. Debra spent her professional career teaching various subjects at Gilmer ISD for 38 years before her retirement.

After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching them compete in their various extracurricular activities. She also enjoyed traveling to watch rodeos with her husband Clayton.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Gilmer for many years where she continued impacting the lives of young people by teaching Sunday school. She was also a member of the Fellowship Bible Class.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 49 years, Emmett Clayton Venn; children, Eric Clayton Venn, Evan Paul Venn and wife Stephanie; sister Sandra Sanders; grand-children, Tristen Venn and wife Emilee, Madisyn Venn, Rylann Venn, Teagann Venn, and Blantyn Venn, great grand-daughter Arya Venn; and nephew Tracey Sanders.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Fellowship Bible Class of FBC Gilmer at PO Box 1134 Gilmer, TX 75644 for her to continue impacting lives through their ministry.

Services for Debra will be at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Morris Cemetery.
