Mr. James Keith Knight

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Keith Knight, 79, of Gary, Texas will be 2:00 p.m. Monday November 10, 2025, at the Woods Cemetery with Rev. Dean Register officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home.
Mr. James Keith Knight was born February 5, 1946, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He passed this life November 6, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Keith was the oldest of two children born to the marriage of Annice Brown and James Charles Knight. He was raised and schooled in Tenaha. He was a Tenaha Tiger graduate, attending Panola College and Stephen F. Austin State University obtaining his Bachelor of Education. He married his love Vera Stewart in 1970, and they had one son and celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Mr. Knight loved farming and ranching. His career was spent at Logansport schools teaching math and coaching all sports until his retirement. He was a member of the Paxton Methodist Church. Keith loved collecting, telling tall tales, hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pamela Knight Walker.
Mr. Knight is survived by his loving wife Vera Knight of Gary; devoted son, James Rodney Knight and wife Nikkol of Bossier City, LA; brother-in-law, Johnny Walker of Nacogdoches; and a nephew, Blake Walker; grandchildren, Colby and Mackensie Knight; other relatives and a host of friends.
