Earl D. "Bud" Farrell, Sr. was born on December 23, 1928 in Gilmer, Texas. Earl, went to his heavenly home on July 23, 2013, with his loving wife, Sandy Farrell, of 38 years, family and friends, gathered by his side. A veteran of the US Army. Earl was the founder of Farrell Roofing and Sheet Metal of Houston, Texas, established in 1949. The roofing industries will sorely miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, B.F. & Hattie Farrell; his 2 brothers & 5 sisters; the mother of his 2 children, Lou Farrell; daughter Donna Farrell, Brother-in-Law, Gary Smith. He is survived by his wife, Sandy Smith Farrell, Son, Earl D. "Buddy" Farrell, Jr., Daughter-in-law, Mickey Farrell, Grandson, Brian Thompson, Granddaughters, Jennifer & Deanna Farrell and Great Granddaughters, Madeline & Emily Thompson, Mother-In-Law, Vera Smith, brother-in-law, Ronnie Smith and wife Mona. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
His passions in life included his wife, Sandy, traveling, hunting and fishing and gardening. Earl, an avid gardener made his yard a beautiful work of art. A memorial service celebrating Earl's life will be held at 11:00 amSaturday, August 3, 2013 at SalemLutheranChurch, 22601 Lutheran Church Rd.Tomball, TX77377 with Reverend Doug Dommer and Dr. Harold Clayton officiating.

Sandy, this note is late in being posted. But, not because of lack of caring. It was so great to have reconnected with you at the MacArthur High School Reunion. This has got to be a difficult time for you and I'm so sorry for what you are going through.
Upon learning of his being a gardener tells me that he and I should have gotten together and compared notes. An email hug is insufficient, but all that can be offered right now.
