It's been 8 months. Or at least something like that. I don't know who's going to see this or where this is going, but I just need to get this out there because I've been thinking about her a lot. She was the kindest person I'd ever met. She brought so much joy to me. I met her in 7th grade, and she actually approached me first. I've always been bad with starting conversations and generally people tended to avoid me, so to have somebody come up to me first, it was nice. From there we bonded and we had a great friendship. In 7th and 8th grade we were in the same German class and every single day I would be crying with laughter due to our shared godawful sense of humor. I wish I got to see her more outside of those times. We had a few other classes together throughout the years, but German class is what really stood out to me. At this point I've accepted what has happened, but it still hurts so much, so I try to think of all of the fun times I had with her rather than wallowing in sorrow. She was incredible. That's all I have to say. Thank you for listening. I love you Dee :)

I miss her so much, I think about her all of the time and she's still, forever, in my heart. I miss her so much. I wish there was something I could've done, I remember waking up that day, going to school, and being one of the only ones who didn't know. I cried really hard and sometimes, I still do. I loved her, I still love her. My condolences.

Dear Family and Friends of Danielle Eckert,
Allow us to share what Mary Wygant of Cream Ridge, NJ, wrote when our 16-year-old son Billy died following a head injury. We hereby change the pronouns to apply it for Danielle.
"NEVER TOO YOUNG TO BE WITH GOD,
Though it be a sorrowful day
For those on Earth left alone and sad
To know she has gone away.
Never too young to be with God.
Just a little while ago
She came from God.
If God calls back the Loan,
It is surely better so."
Notice that Mrs. Wygant capitalized the word "Loan," reminding us that we do not own our loved ones, but we are all loaned to one another, and sooner or later we return to our Creator and Redeemer God Who loves us eternally through Yeshua / Jesus.
May the Holy Spirit comfort you and give you courage as you "walk through the valley of the shadow" headed toward the Light in Christ our Lord and Savior.
Perhaps our Mercer Area Chapter of The Compassionate Friends may be helpful to you when you may feel ready to meet with us and other bereaved parents the first Monday of each month. Sincerely, Bob and Sandy Turton

Danielle was one of the brightest souls I've ever encountered. She had a charm about her and was so clever! I remember this story I heard, when she was young, maybe 3 or 4 years old, she was watching a children's show and they asked a riddle or something: what has four legs? I think the point was that they wanted the kids to pick an animal on all fours but Danielle's answer was: two people walking together, holding hands. I will always remember this about her - the ability to see things in such a unique way. I love you Michelle and Doug and send my love to everyone who knew Dee.

Rest in peace. Although I never knew Danielle personally, I have heard nothing but good things from those who have been touched by her presence. She is gone too soon, but I know that she is with God now, and he will take care of her for eternity. Sending nothing but love and condolences to the family and friends affected by this loss. Danielle, you have affected many through your kindness, and you will be remembered forever.
