George J. Bubanic

1929 - 2016

George J. Bubanic, 86, of McKeesport, formerly of Port Vue, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, in UPMC McKeesport. Born June 22, 1929, in Port Vue, he was a son of the late George J. and Anne (Pancurak) Bubanic, and the husband of Loretta (Mesko) Bubanic. George retired from Monal Construction and was a member of Laborers' Local Union 373. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church, GBU, American Legion Post 447 and the Golf Association. He was a Korean War veteran, having served in the Army. He enjoyed golfing and watching Pittsburgh sports. George truly cared about his family and loved spending time with them. In addition to his wife, George is survived by children, George J., of McKeesport, and Maryanne (Alan) Fiem, of Raleigh, N.C.; granddaughters, Natasha (Joseph) McCleod and Kara Weinberg; brother, Bernard (Roseanne), of Port Vue; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert; and a sister, Beatrice Rich.
Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of blessing service at 12 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at WILLIG FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Port Vue.
