Dean B. Schwab Sr.

1928 - 2017

Dean B. Schwab Sr., 88, of West Newton, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017. He was born Sept. 30, 1928, in Lynnwood, a son of the late Amos and Emma (Piper) Schwab. Prior to retirement, he was employed by U.S. Steel Irvin Works. Dean was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army. Surviving are a son, Dean B. Schwab Jr. and wife, Debbie; five grandchildren, Randy Schwab, Kara Tenuta and husband, Guiseppe, Jessica Kelleher and husband, Patrick, Joel Schwab and wife, Katie, and Dustin Schwab and wife, Melissa; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Emogene Klich; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Farmer) Schwab; a son, Randy Schwab; sisters, Edith Zyla, Lucia Keefer, Gail Simon, Esther Dainty and Ellen Klingensmith; and brothers, George, Jess, Allen and Calvin Schwab.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the J. WILLIAM McCAULEY Jr. FUNERAL HOME INC., 901 Vine St., West Newton, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery. A special thanks to Bud Farmer and Robert Farkas for being there for Dean.
