Della LaRosa Obituary
Della A. LaRosa, 91, of White Oak, formerly of McKeesport, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at home. She was the daughter of the late Adam and Ella Mae (Firden) Loughner and the wife of the late Samuel R. LaRosa. Della was a member of St. Patrick Church and a past member of the women's guild. She volunteered at Kane Regional Care Center in McKeesport and served as an honorary board member of the LaRosa Boys and Girls Club, in addition to serving with the ladies auxiliary of the club. Mrs. LaRosa also enjoyed helping out as a teacher's aid at St. Mary's Catholic School some years ago. Della is survived by a son, Samuel J. (Faye) LaRosa, of McKeesport; daughter, Antonia "Toni" (Donald E. "Nick") Michel, of Manor; six grandchildren, Dr. Donna M. Michel (Rob Caperell), of Winchester, Va., Donald J. (Beth) Michel, of Cranberry, John P. (Susan) Michel, of Gibsonia, Renee (Dennis) Gorman, of Overbrook, Nicole (Robert) Karpuszka, of White Oak, and Joanne E. (Luis) Michel de Guerrero, of Point Breeze; eight great-grandchildren, John Anthony Michel, Nicholas James Michel, Samuel Donald Michel, Joseph Edmund Michel, Megan Brianna Gorman, Erin Elizabeth Gorman, Matthew Robert Karpuszka and Kaitlyn Nicole Karpuszka; sister, Vida Canova, of McKeesport; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at WILLIG FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick Church with Father Vincent Velas serving as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park Mausoleum. Additionally, the family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Three Rivers Hospice for their exceptional and compassionate care of our mother and, as a gesture of gratitude to acknowledge their kindness, contributions are also welcomed to Three Rivers Hospice, 1195 Jacks Run Road, North Versailles, PA 15137.
