Edmund Feret Obituary

Edmund V. Feret, 75, of Ruffs Dale, PA, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sept. 17, 2024. He was born April 23, 1949, in Greensburg, a son of the late Peter Bernard and Martha (Belvin) Feret, and grew up in South Greensburg. Ed was a cancer survivor but suffered with the lasting effects of chemo and radiation and a recent bout of pneumonia took its toll. Ed retired from the USPS, where he worked as a machine mechanic. He was a graduate of Greensburg Salem High School and served stateside in the United States Army. He was also a member of St. Bruno Church in South Greensburg. Ed will be greatly missed by his siblings, Raymond Feret and wife, Kathryn, Martha Ann Rossi 'Penny' and husband, Francis, and Cynthia Smetanka and husband, Joseph; his longtime dear friend, Debbie; seven nieces and nephews; and six great-nieces and great-nephews. Ed will be remembered for his great love of nature, whether existing in it or traveling on through reminding each of us not to kill an insect, animal, or plant and to exist with it! He was a bit of a 'tree hugger' and loved his ginseng patch. He was gifted with the ability to work with his hands, building his own home and garage and climbing, cutting down his own trees as well as helping family and friends with their projects. In his younger days, he was an avid weightlifter and bodybuilder and had loved lecturing all about the benefits of healthy eating, exercising, and vitamin supplements. He enjoyed many exciting trips riding his Triumph and driving his Corvette. In later years, he loved hitting the bike trails in the tri-state area and passing you up on his electric bike! Ed will be remembered as a generous, loving brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed. A private viewing was held at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton St., Greensburg followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Bruno Church. Private interment took place in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. www.bachafh.com

Ed and his family were neighbors of mine in South Greensburg, and I´ll never forget him working out in their garage, and talking constantly about eating right and working out! Ray, Penny, and Ed´s entire family, I´m sorry to hear this sad news. You have my sincere condolences.
