Eugene Falbo Obituary

Eugene T. Falbo, 88, of Latrobe, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. Born Dec. 16, 1926, in Latrobe, he was the son of the late Theodore J. Falbo and Susan (Johnson) Falbo. Eugene was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Prior to his retirement, he had been the owner and operator of Mountain View Tourways and loved to be on the road driving bus. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Navy. Eugene was a member of the American Legion Post No. 515, was an avid sports fan, particularly the Pittsburgh Pirates, and he enjoyed country music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Sulkey and Evelyn Stein; and a brother-in-law, William Repko. Eugene is survived by his wife, Joanne M. (Repko) Falbo, of Latrobe; two sons, Louis A. Falbo and his girlfriend, Mary Smetak, of Latrobe, and Theodore E. "Ted" Falbo and his partner, Dan Riles, of Latrobe; three daughters, Leann Falbo, of Latrobe, Suzanne Machesney and her husband, Nick, of New Alexandria, and Christine Onorati, of Valdosta, Ga.; one sister, Violet Sulkey, of Allentown; seven grandchildren, Melissa, Heather, Melinda, Kristy, Jacob, Emily and Caitlin; nine great-grandchildren, Charley Marie and Harrison, Abbey and Mia, Vladie and Izzie and Alex, Emmett and Nolan; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Steve Repko and his wife, Donna, Tom Repko and his wife, Patty, James "Slim" Repko, Mary Murphy, Bev Kozemchak and Betsy Pennavaria and her husband, Ned; an aunt, Ruth Semo, of Greensburg; several nieces and nephews; and a special caregiver, Kim.
Family and friends will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Members of the Sacred Heart Rosary Altar Society will recite the rosary at 2:30 Thursday in the funeral home. Military services will be accorded at 9:15 a.m. Friday in the funeral home by the Latrobe-Derry Veterans Honor Guard. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
