James Pearce Obituary

James E. Pearce, 91, of Greensburg, died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, in Heartland Hospice House, Jeannette. He was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Muskogee, Okla., a son of the late Charles W. and Monica (Erb) Pearce. Prior to retirement, he had been a plumber. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg, and the Knights of Columbus Council 1480, Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Henry Pearce; and a sister, Ann Barone. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Pauline (Ebitz) Pearce; a son, James Pearce, of Arizona; a daughter, Catherine Rankin and her husband, John, of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Julie Jones and her husband, Steve, of Indiana, Mary Catherine Reljac and her husband, Jason, of Pittsburgh, Jennifer Felker and her husband, Nathan, of Ohio, and Monica Methven and her husband, Thomas, of Penn; three great-grandsons, Ben Jones, Harrison and Alan Methven; two brothers, Frank Pearce and Clark Brandt; a sister, Mary Wilhelm; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg. Prayers at 9 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg, with Monsignor Raymond E. Riffle as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, Penn. The Knights of Columbus Council 1480 will meet at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Sunday to conduct a service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Knights of Columbus Council 1480, 661 N. Main St., Greensburg, PA 15601 or Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 1001 Mt.
