John Barton Obituary

John Paul "J.P." Barton, of Fort Hill, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, with his family at his side. He was born Sept. 14, 1972, in Mt Pleasant, a son of Nancy A. Ronick Barton and the late Daniel J. Barton Sr. J.P. was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant Area High School, going on to Swarthmore College for his bachelor's degree, then on to Carnegie Mellon University where he received his master's degree. After graduation, JP served as a civil engineer with P.J. Dick & Trumbull Corporation, Pittsburgh, and later, KCI Technologies, MDOT District 6 Office, LaVale, Md. J.P. was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Fort Hill. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and spending time in the Bible reading the Word of God. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors, however, he cherished time spent with his family, friends and loved ones. He is survived by his mother, Nancy, and brother, Daniel J. (Sylvia) Barton Jr., along with his two nephews, Daniel III (Jasmyn) and Nathan. In honoring J.P.'s request, all services are private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial donations be made in J.P.'s name to Our Daily Bread Ministries, P.O. Box 2222, Grand Rapids, MI, 49501, or to The Gideons International, P.O. I was a friend of JP´s at Swarthmore. We bonded because we were both from the vicinity of Western PA. I remember him as a kind and quietly fun guy. I was surprised and saddened to see news of his passing in the Swarthmorean this month. My heart goes out to his family.
