Laura Boyd Obituary

Laura Grace Boyd, 84, of Ligonier Township, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Emeritus at Latrobe. She was born Nov. 14, 1929, a daughter of the late Victor R. and Margaret Henderson Fulcomer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dr. John D. Shutter; and a sister, Faye McCauslin. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert G. Boyd; two loving children, a daughter, Rita Shutter, of Latrobe, and a son, William J. (Margaret) Boyd, of Ligonier Township; seven loving grandchildren, Robert Rummell, Ronald (Melissa) Rummell, Amanda (Barry) Ellenberger, Jason (Annie) Boyd, Allison (Trent) DeWalt, Alexis (Ja'Tawn) Williams and Lucas (Renee) Boyd; and 13 loving great-grandchildren, Brayden Rummell, Kimberly and Zachary Pyle, Lindsay and Lauren Ellenberger, Ashley, Kaitlyn, Anthony and Ethan DeWalt, Bailey Jellison, Ali Hatcher, Ja'Tawn Williams and William Rummell; two sisters, Alice Cauffield, of Ohio, and Elsie Zimmerman, of Ligonier; and sister-in-law, Mildred Hoffer, of Ligonier. She enjoyed her regular bus trips to the casinos and spending time with her grandchildren whom she adored. She watched all the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins games. "Grams" kitchen was always open, even if it was for only coffee. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, at SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC, 402 E. Church St., Ligonier, with the Rev. William Pieringer, chaplain of the Bethlen Community Hospice officiating. The family would like to thank all the staff at Emeritus at Latrobe, Bethlen Communities Hospice and Dr. Vincent DeCosmo for the patience and care they gave to Grace. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Grace's name to a charity of one's choice.
