Louis Owens Obituary

Louis Dale Owens, 95, of Youngstown, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024 at Loyalhanna Care Center. Born April 28, 1929, in Hostetter, he was a son of the late William and Tessie (Harr) Owens. Dale was a member of Bethany Church, Latrobe. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Latrobe Steel Company. A Veteran of the Korean War, he served in the US Army. He was a member of the Local 1537 Retirees Club, Latrobe, and the American Legion Post No. 982, Unity Township. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Virginia M. (Vinson) Owens; a daughter, Donna Mae Mueseler; three brothers, William, Ronald, and John Owens; and three sisters, Phyllis Owens, Ruth Smith, and Betty Brindle. Dale is survived by one son, Dale E. Owens of Gilbert, AZ; one daughter, Diane E. Owens of Penn Hills; a son-in-law, Robert W. Mueseler Jr. of Latrobe; four grandchildren, Eric Mueseler and his wife Emily, Kelly Mueseler Sterniak and her husband Joel, Briana Owens Spears and her husband Morgan, and Angelena Owens Avenetti and her husband Donovan; five great-grandchildren, Everly, Owen, Mackenzie, Aubrey, and Adaline; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, at the LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe. A military service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, by the Latrobe Derry Veterans Honor Guard. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, in the funeral home with the Rev. Corben Russell officiating. Private interment will be at Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
