Mark Ressler Obituary

Mark Daniel Ressler Jr., 27, of Herminie, died peacefully Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at his home, of natural causes. He was born Aug. 30, 1979, in Greensburg, a son of Sherri (Ressler) Logesky and her husband, Barry, of Herminie, and a son of Mark Ressler Sr. and his wife, Cindy, of Harrison City. Mark is also survived by a daughter, Kailey Renae Ressler and her mother, Sheryl Ressler, of Lawton, Okla.; two sisters, Amanda Dickson, of Latrobe, and Valerie Yex and her husband, Dan, of Greensburg; a brother, Ryan Ressler, of Greensburg; half sisters, Krissy and Tiffany Ressler, and Jen and Jess Rindt, all of Harrison City; and numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, Brytni, Brandon, Maggie, Abbie, Matthew and Noah. He was preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal grandparents; and a brother-in-law, Timothy Dickson. Mark was truly loved by his family, friends and any and everyone he met. His sense of humor, incredible personality and smile will live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Mark was a member of the U.S. Army, having served for seven and a half years, stationed in Fort Sill, Okla., and included two tours of duty in Iraq. His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Southwest Asia Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Individual Training Medal, Honors Graduation Certificate, Physical Fitness Certificate of Achievement and Commandant's List Certificate. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Daniel Ofchinick officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors accorded by the Greensburg VFW Post 33 Honor Guard in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the members of the Greensburg VFW Post 33 for their guidance and support.
