Dolores J. Stitt

Dolores J. (Bothel) Stitt, 84, of Gilpin Township, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at Pleasant Ridge Nursing Home, Leechburg. Born May 10, 1931, in Leechburg, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Nellie (Klingensmith) Bothel. Dolores lived in Leechburg all of her life, and was a 1949 graduate of Leechburg High School. Before becoming a homemaker, she worked as a secretary for Allegheny Ludlum for nine years, and continued as a member of its alumni group. Dolores was a past member of the First Baptist Church, in Leechburg, and the North Apollo Church of God. She was involved in Sunday school at both churches. Dolores enjoyed the outdoors, and liked walking, camping and going to the beach. But she most loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her sisters, Bernice Shannon and Joretta Houser. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Wallace B. "Wally" Stitt; son, Richard "Rick" (Silvia) Stitt, of Leechburg; daughter, Debbie Stitt, of West Vandergrift; granddaughters, Kylie and Mikayla; sister, Shirley (Paul) Fisher, of Apollo; and nieces and nephews.
At Dolores' request, all services are private, and have been entrusted to the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, Leechburg. Interment in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
