Elizabeth Linsley Obituary

Elizabeth Lois Linsley, 92, of Miami, FL, went home with Jesus on June 2, 2024. She was born August 25, 1931, in Grove City, to Irish Immigrants Robert Charles Stanley and Sarah Jane Hutchinson Bower. Lois was Irish to the core, raised Presbyterian, graduated from McKinley High School in Niles, OH, and went on to receive an associate's degree from Youngstown University. Over the years she wore many hats; mother, homemaker, secretary, friend, hair dresser, soloist, choral director, seamstress, baker, florist and business partner. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Edward Linsley; a daughter, Dorothy Elizabeth Linsley Patterson; and her brothers, Bob and Hugh Bower. She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Margaret Melcher (Michael) whom Lois lived with in Miami; son-in-law, Charles Thomas Patterson (Connie); granddaughter, Leslie Elizabeth Dahmen (Thomas "Toby"); and grandson, Robert Edward Patterson; two great-grandsons, Eric Thomas and Cole Michael Patterson; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in the MCCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry, where a service will be conducted Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. with the Reverend Ronald Durika officiating. Interment will follow in the Unity Cemetery, Latrobe. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation at alzfdn.org or a charity of your choice. online condolences may be made to www.mccabefuneralhomespa.com.
