James Golembesky Obituary

James L. Golembesky, 79, of Buffalo Township, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at his home. He was born Dec. 31, 1927, in Freeport, to the late Albert Z. and Mary (Moser) Golembiesky, and resided in the Freeport area most of his life. Mr. Golembesky was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II. Jim worked as a laborer for PPG Industries, Creighton, for over 25 years, prior to his retirement in 1977. He was also a well-known, self-employed painting contractor in the area. He was a member of the St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Freeport. His hobbies included working on his property and gardening. Jim is survived by two sons and two daughters, Brenda L. (Richard C. Frantz) Golembesky, of Mars, James F. Golembesky, of Buffalo Township, Cindy Golembesky Hinton, of Lower Burrell, and Shawn C. (Debi) Golembesky, of Armstrong Township; six grandchildren, James R., Clint M., Genevieve, Joshua S. Golembesky, Jessica D. Golembesky-Johns, Benjamin S. Hinton; one great-granddaughter, Abigail Johns; and his brother, Edward E. (Norma) Golembiesky, of New Kensington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne (Beale) Golembesky, on June 28, 2004; and three sisters and six brothers. Family and friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at the DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 Fourth St., Freeport, 724-295-3100, where funeral ceremonies will be held 10 a.m. Saturday with his Pastor, the Rev. Thomas A. Federline, officiating. Committal services and burial will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery, Freeport.
