James Oliver Obituary

James E. Oliver Sr., 82, of Seattle, Wash., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023. Born Aug. 22, 1941, he lived in New Kensington until graduation in 1959. He entered into the Navy and served for 32 years, retiring as a chief petty officer (E7). He enjoyed his family, fishing and water sports. Hre was the son of the late Harvie Sr. and Eunice Oliver and was also preceded in death by his brother, Harvie Jr. Survivors include his wife, Irene; sisters, Regina (Larry) Rowe, of Arnold, Carol (Darryl) Daughtry, of Pittsburgh, LaMonica Fields, of New Kensington; brothers, Hollin (Corina) West, of New Kensington, Wally (Debbie) Dorsey, of New Kensington. He was a father of seven children: Michell Oliver, of Washington, James Jr., of Florida, Bonnie (Andrew) Maddy, of Oklahoma, Carolyn (Josh) Bass, of Florida, Michael (Christina), of Washington, Geoffrey Le Gros and Daryl Tompson, both of New Zealand; and leaves behind lots of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Private services to be held in Seattle, Wash.
