Mary Deres Obituary

Mary R. Deres, 86, of Blawnox, formerly of Fawn, died at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 26, 2004) in St. Margaret Seneca Place, Penn Hills, where she was a patient for 10 days.

Born Aug. 16, 1918, in Curtisville, West Deer, she lived in Fawn for many years before moving to Blawnox four years ago. She was a member of Holy Martyrs Roman Catholic Parish, Sacred Heart-St. Peter Worship Site, Tarentum. Mrs. Deres enjoyed playing cards and gardening. Survivors include three brothers, Louis L. (Dorothy) Daloise of Harrison, John (Nora) Daloisio of Tarentum and Leonard (Susan) Daloise of Meadville; and a sister, Florence C. (Raymond R.) Thimons Sr. of Harmar. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor J. Deres; her parents, Henry and Carmella Antonucci Daloisio Sr.; a brother, Henry Daloisio Jr.; and a sister, Ann Lattus. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., 10th Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum, where a blessing service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart-St. Peter Worship Site with the Rev. Albert Zapf, pastor of Our Lady of Victory Church, Harwick, as celebrant. Burial will be in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to area flood victims through a charity of one's choice.
