Robert E. LaValley

1958 - 2023

Robert E. LaValley, 64, of Lower Burrell, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023, in his home surrounded by his wife and family. He was born Sept. 5, 1958, in Pittsburgh, to the late Robert and Joanne Maggi LaValley. After residing in Lower Burrell, Bob and his wife spent five years in Clearwater, Fla. They had just returned back to Lower Burrell in November of 2022. Mr. LaValley worked in heavy highway in the Labors Union #1058, as well as an occupational therapy assistant in UPMC Physical Therapy. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Ryder, loved cooking and was a huge dog lover. He loved spending time at home with his family and was an avid Steelers football fan. Mr. LaValley loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Carlye L. Mele LaValley; his son, Robert (fiance Emily Parise) LaValley, of South Hills; stepchildren, William K. Lewis, of Greensburg, Cortney (Kevin) Ferguson, of Fawn Township, and Kenneth M. Lewis Jr., of Leechburg; grandchildren, Ryder Ferguson, Josie LaValley and Declan; two sisters, Lisa (Pete) Kurios, of Murrysville, and Beth (Cassie) LaValley, of Plum, brother-in-law, Pastor KR (Gina) Mele; seven nieces and nephews; and his father- and mother-in-law, the Rev. Harold and Pat Mele, of Lower Burrell. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Harold Mele and Pastor KR Mele at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder Street.
